FOA Marketing and Communications Intern – School Credit Only

The Foundation for an Open America (FOA) is working on incorporation status as a public charity. It functions out of the Hildreth Stewart Charitable Foundation located in the Copley area of Boston, Massachusetts. Its focus is on integration of immigrants via education.

Supervision
The Marketing & Communications Intern is supervised by the Director of Development or Director of Communications depending on current needs.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Marketing & Communications Intern is an integral member of the staff. This busy team works with several nonprofits and groups in updating websites, providing technical assistance, and advising about fundraising activities. Future planned activities include an annual conference and gala. The intern provides administrative assistance to the team, as needed. The intern will work both with the team and independently, based on experience. This is a great opportunity to gain nonprofit and small shop communications and fundraising experience.

Qualifications
• Computer skills and knowledge: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); Dreamweaver or other publishing software
• Internet skills and knowledge: e-communications; familiarity with social media outlets
• This is a non-paid internship; school credit only
• Available 10+ hours per week, at least 2 hours per day.
